This annual marathon courses through the five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon in the world, with there typically being more than 50k finishers each year. What has grown to be so big, started out so small. The first New York City Marathon took place in 1970 and was held entirely in Central Park. There were just 127 entrants and only 55 of them finished.
Running for a charity not only provides you with guaranteed entry, it also gives you the opportunity to change lives and give back to your community.
PALS SkyHope provides free critical medical flights that enable families to access the best possible treatments for the best possible outcomes. Like NYRR, we are inspiring those that are sick to never give up, and to put one foot in front of the other to keep moving forward! While not all of our patients may be able to run marathons, our services help them to lead the healthiest lives they can by accessing top doctors and specialized programs throughout the country. By offering flights on private general aviation aircrafts, we are mitigating the exposure and risk to those that are already immune compromised and safely transporting them to the critical care they deserve.
There is a required race entry fee of $255 for NYRR Members and $315 for Non-Members. You will also be responsible to fundraise $4,000 in support of PALS SkyHope mission.
We have 2 fundraising tiers this year:
Tier 1: $6,000 fundraising commitment
